The Shit is Crazy...

The shit ? it's crazy. if you haven't taken my advice, and copped the fly 2 yet, i have no possible idea what you could be waiting for. shout out to hopp for co-signing the shit out of Willie the Kid, cause had it not been for that, i probably would have passed on this.

but yea, the whole tape goes. also, if you're looking for other shit from WTK outside of "the fly 2", this would be a good place to start.

The LwH/GBM Remix Contest

NOTE- i posted this on GeorgeBushMoney about a week ago, still waiting on submissions -please send your remix to georgebushmoney@gmail.com or LWHRadio@gmail.com

After several discussions and even more suggestions, we’re finally happy to announce the details for the first official LightWeightHeavy Remix Battle. Initially, we tossed around the idea of creating a live beat battle on the show, but it seemed like a huge undertaking. It’s tough to get everyone to participate when there’s only a two hour window to work within. Eventually, we decided to steal 50 Cent’s brilliant idea, and just place an acapella out there to let the producers work their magic with it.

When it came down to choosing an actual song for everyone to work with, I knew we wanted to go with Nas, given his penchant for picking shitty beats. *ducks hail of bullets from the GBM staff* Instead of going with a beat that is begging for improvement, we decided to choose one that sets the bar high with it’s original production, and force the beatsmiths to really bring their A-game.

So here you have it – Nas’ “Purple”, my favorite song off Lost Tapes, stripped down to just the vocals. In my time on the hip hop blog comment section circuit, I’ve seen a lot of shit talking about how “nobody is fucking with my beats” from various screen names, so here is your chance. Submit your entries by May 1st (of THIS year, slackers) and we will play the submissions on LWHRadio.

If you win, you’ll be the lucky recipient of a dime bag of Ohio’s finest dirt weed, a pack of g-unit wife beaters, and bragging rights amongst your internet peers as the champion of the boards.

#GeorgeBushMoney is the army, better yet the navy

so awhile back, some of my internet cronies and i had come up with the idea to join forces, and create a blog that is unfuckwittable. being that i am lazy, and we are spread out all over the world, it took a while for the pieces to fall into place. seeing the great things happening over at #nojumper kind of inspired me to get the team back together and make this idea a reality.(shout out yayo) things here at LWH will pretty much stay the same, with me virtually ignoring it for the most part. the LWHRadio show will also continue as it has been, although a name change is in the near future. george bush money is that new money. check us out here.

you other blogs - be prepared for the takeover. we puttin you on the summer jam screen.

OFSTFUGTFOH

odd future this. odd future that. are you sick of hearing about these guys yet ?

I’m gettin there. the crazy part is that most people haven’t really dug into the catalog of all the different arms of OFWGKTA, and are really basing their opinion on a song or two, or what everyone else is saying.

Polarizing would be an understatement.. it seems you either think tyler and earl are the next jay and nas, or you think they are attention seeking, shock rapping children who listened to too much Marshall Mathers and don’t deserve the shine they are getting over the last few months.

I suppose i’m one of the few who is somewhere in between. I don’t really care for them, personally, but i have to admit that when i put their ridiculous antics aside and just listen to the music, there are some gems. Imagine if you had never heard of Tyler and his gang of raping skateboarders and this song came on the radio. Tell me you wouldn’t wanna know who is that spittin’ or who produced this?

.. you would. Because this is good hip-hop. and if i stop and really think about it, i can almost justify their sometimes ridiculous behavior. I mean, they are all under 20, and based god knows, when i was a teenager, i was wild as fuck, and i’m sure i said some crazy shit on the regular. Not to mention that i wasn’t dealing with new found celebrity and loads of cash and bitches who wanna throw it at me on GP.

moral of the story, you probably shouldn’t take OFWGKTA too seriously, but you might really miss out on some good shit if you don’t take the time to listen to the music.

Nathaniel "Nate Dogg" Hale - August 19, 1969 – March 15, 2011

Hip hop fans all over the world are waking up to news of the passing of a legend. I don't use that term loosely, but that is what Nate Dogg was. The original hook master. If you needed to make an album pop in the 90's or 2000's you called on his services to sing the hook. His smooth vocals, coupled with his tough west coast g-funk persona, made for a combination that can not be replicated. It came off on wax as a reserved, confident man who didn't need to get loud to get his point across. You knew that he meant business and was not to be fucked with. Working with some of the biggest hip hop acts ever, from the West, East, North, South, wherever, he solidified himself in the pages of music history. I have compiled some of Nate's best features. I'm not going to rank these, or do anything like that. I just think they should be enjoyed. While he has tons and tons of features, I picked 10. These are some of the ones he's best known for, as well as some of my personal favorites.
